Keith Buckner

Keith Buckner’s paintings are ultimately an exploration of color relationships. The painterly realist work emphasizes the abstract qualities of the motif as opposed to details. Buckner’s paintings have been shown in several regional exhibitions and can be found in many private collections. Past exhibitions include three years in Art On Paper at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, North Carolina Artists Exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and numerous exhibitions at Green Hill Center for NC Art, private, and university galleries. Buckner attended the University of North Carolina Greensboro for undergraduate and graduate work. He received a BFA in Painting and Printmaking and an MFA in Painting and Drawing, where he studied with Andy Martin, Walter Barker and Peter Agostini. Buckner received the faculty-juried Howard Scholarship and the Chancellor’s Art Award, which made his work a part of the permanent collection of UNCG Student Art. Keith is also a musician and regularly plays with three local bands. Buckner lives in Greensboro, NC with his partner, Gwen Hunnicutt, and their two Boston Terriers.
