Education: B.A. in Spanish and History; Greensboro College; M.Ed. in Spanish Classroom Practice, University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a concentration in Cultural Studies, University of North Carolina at Greensboro
Melissa is in her second year as an Upper School Spanish teacher, and is excited about “working with interesting, curious, kind young people” every day.
Melissa highly values education and has spent her entire career living out her commitment to education. She has taught all levels of Spanish at Page High School, has served as an adjunct professor of Spanish pedagogy at Greensboro College, and has worked with Spanish students and pre-service teachers at Greensboro College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Melissa loves travelling (especially road trips) and some of her favorite destinations are Natural Parks. She even has a National Park Passport where she collects National Park stamps. Melissa is married to Phillip Bocci and they have one daughter, Evie, and one cat. Melissa enjoys growing her own food, cooking, and creating science experiments and art projects for Evie’s Girl Scout troop.
